How can i test what brand of nail polish last the longest?help! need to know by tonight?

im thinking of doing this for my science fair project but i was wondering if i could test it.

help!!!!!

need a topic by tonight! How can i test what brand of nail polish last the longest?help! need to know by tonight?
set a time line. and then get a group of friends to to use a different brand each.

see whos last the longest etcHow can i test what brand of nail polish last the longest?help! need to know by tonight?
That isn't going to make a good science fair topic at all. How much information could you possibly fill a display board with based on comparing nail polishes?

I suggest rethinking. For example, in 8th grade my science fair question was ';How do different genres of music affect your heartbeat?'; It's still easy to do, but I was able to make a graph and research the heart, etc.
i would re think it. i had a project like that my 10th grade chemistry and i used which lipstick stays on the longest and it didn't go that well cause it kinda hard test that. to test it every thing would hav to be constant and that's hard to do. if i was you i would used which batteries run the longest. you can do that by get common toys that run on batteries and have them run nonstop til all of them stop working and see which on ran the longest.
paint each of your nails with a different nail polish. and see what lasts longest.

have your friends use the same brands on the same fingers.

the only downfall is: you use some fingers more than the other ones..
polish small areas with different polishes, then try to gently rub each with nail polish remover (one rub) %26amp; the one that has the most polish still on it after one gentle rub is the one that stays on the longest
use a style make rainbow and see how long they stay on and if they do stay on short but one stays on long u know what kind then try the brand :)

  • Will my toenail fall? and if so, when will it do so and how long will it take for the nail to grow back?

Last week I dropped a bed frame on my big toe. Immediately after this i went to a band rehearsal (which means two hours of standing). My nails were painted at the time so it wasn't until i took the polish off that i noticed that nail was a blueish-black color.

The next morning i went to the doctor and he drilled a hole in my nail (with a paper clip!) and al the blood came out over the next few days.

Now a week later, most of the pain is gone but it looks white, there is still a clearish liquid coming out of the hole, and the nail is starting to feel loose.

Will i lose my nail? If so, when and how long will it take and how long will it take to grow back?

80% of my shoes show my big toes or all of them. Will my toenail fall? and if so, when will it do so and how long will it take for the nail to grow back?
you will loose it in a day or two. Unfortunately it will take months before your nail grows back in I'm guessing about 4 or 5

Puppy's nails are too long, but I'm scared to cut the blood vessel!?

I got busy preparing to travel back home and went about 2 weeks without noticing my puppie's nails. They are pretty long and I managed to clip them down a tiny bit, but the blood vessels are so long now, I can barely do it.

I already kinda hurt one nail where I couldn't see the very tip of the vessel and don't want that to happen again. For now I just filed the tips.

What should I do about trimming her nails? Do the blood vessels grow longer when the nails are overdo for a trim? And now that they seem so long, how can I manage to trim the nails?

Thanks for your advice.Puppy's nails are too long, but I'm scared to cut the blood vessel!?
Use a dremmel tool with 120 grit sand paper, take an 1/8 inch off each week until desired length. The quicks (blood vessel) will grow longer if you do not trim the nails. With each trim/filing the quick will recede farther and farther back.Puppy's nails are too long, but I'm scared to cut the blood vessel!?
yes...when the nails are overdue for a trim the the ';quick'; (the blood vessels inside the dog's nails) grows longer as well...you are wise to be wary of the quick as cutting it can cause your pet to bleed to death...I advise you to call your vet and just ask what -if anything- you can do about managing the nails now? filing them is probably a good idea as long as you don't overdue it...another way of keeping your pets' nails trim is to walk them on concrete or asphalt daily (sidewalk instead of grass-we do this for our dog who does not like her paws touched and it lessens how often she has to get her nails trimed)
I had it happen to my golden and the best thing i found was to regurarly trim the nails down to the shortest length, and eventually you can get the nails back to the size you want. This is a long process though.
just trim them of little by little..

but what i would do is take ur dog to the vet to trim the nails

    its the best solution

its what i do because i hate trimming my dogs nails especially when i cut a vessel

just go to ur vet and ask for a trimming

    every vet does it
I see that someone told you not to bother doing this, that the nails stop growing on their own. sorry, not quite true.

I have one whos nails grow in circles. his dewclaws actually can loop back on themselves if I don't pay enough attention. and his hind legs grow in a ';C'; pattern.

you got some good advice about asking a vet or a groomer to do it for you. but, ask them to show you how while they're doing it.
The quick or blood vessels will recede with cutting. Cut a little at a time, evey week. You will soon notice that you will be able to cut more as the quicks recede. If left the quicks will lenghten with the nail. Rather than using a septic powder or corn starch if bleeding ask the vet if you can purchase some cauterizing sticks. These look like long matches and all you need to do is touch the bleed with the stick to stop bleeding.
they stop growing after a while
    go to the vet
Just dont cut the nails... Why does a dog need nice cut nails anyways?
The blood vessel is caklled the quick, and yes, they can increase in length if the nails are left untimmed for a while. Just continue to take off short increments every other day or so until the nail is back to the normal length. The quick will recede as the nail shortens. I assume that since you say you can see them, that your dog has the white or clear nails? You could also just file them daily.
Go to a groomer or a vet and let them do it at least this time. Then, if you feel comfortable doing it after that, try try again.
Try trimming a tiny bit off weekly. I dremel my dogs and my foster dogs. Never nicking the qwik
If you're really afraid to cut the nails, you should just take the dog to a groomers...it's not expensive at all. Also, there are products to stop animals from bleeding if you cut their nails down too far. You can probably find them at a pet store. Good luck :)
Take them to your local groomer. They are trained to do this stuff and i know don't wan't to hurt your puppy.
Just take him to a vet to get his nails trimed.
You should use animal nail cutters. They kind of look almost like plyers. But as for a rule of thumb, you can see both pink and gray/white regions on the nail. Cut after the pink/gray region to cut off only the gray end part ;)
get a professional to do it for you or show you how. like a groomer or your vet. and ask them about things to be careful about. then if you feel comfortable, do it yourself
You can file them regularly or take it to the vet or groomer for trimming if you are nervous. Most vets and groomers charge about $10 for a nail trim.

Does anyone know the best brand of nail tips, powder and liquid. Mine just don't want to stay on very long.

Two fashion blahs: High heels and long nails....... girls why do you wear them? Guys, do you like them?

I dont like either, particularly long nails. i can hear them when they type too (UGH!) They are SUCH a turnoff........Two fashion blahs: High heels and long nails....... girls why do you wear them? Guys, do you like them?
i hate long nails and im a girl i bite my nails like crazy

but i do looove high heels i wear them to all the dances they sta of make me feel taller and prettier ahhaTwo fashion blahs: High heels and long nails....... girls why do you wear them? Guys, do you like them?
we wear what we feel more comfortable in. I have long nails french polished they look great I have never noticed the noise on a pc when typing to be honest. high heels depending on how high, I dont like 4inch heels they look tacky but there again I dont like wearing flats all the time 2-3 inch heel is more comfy I find. But it depends on what job you have what you do etc, you cant be a beautician with eaten nails %26amp; looking like crap god nobody would come to the shop.
I never wear my nails too long. They stay at a short length. Nails make the hands look nice, soft, and feminine. I am not big on high heels. I wear them for time to time but not like an everyday shoe. Some outfits just go better with high heels.
I love wearing high heels. They just feel cool, and I love being taller.

But I hate people with really long nails. They look ungroomed, ESPECIALLY if the nails are different lengths.
    Who cares, you're a priest!
Long nails... not so much, I think they are a health hazard... but I am addicted to high heels. I am a tall girl already (5'11), but I love when I walk into a room with my 4 inch heels on and all the guys try standing up a little straighter to be as tall as they can be. Life is short, you have to pay attention to the little things that make you happy, and do your best to ignore the things that drive you insane.
I don't wear high heels and I HATE long nails!! Haha. = )

I like my flats / flip flops, and short nails.
why are long nails a turnoff? i don't get it.. =P i lovee them.
Oh... I love wearing heels and having my nails done.. It makes me feel sexy!!.. :)
I get your point on the nails, but heels are essential to every girls wardrobe! Every girl should have at least 2 pairs of heels especially as you grow up and become more of an adult. And if you're a priest you probably see alot of heels at your church! Do you ever say anything to the women at your church that wears high heels?
I like high heels. I feel sexy when I wear them.

    As for long nails, though, ';ewww.';

plz helpHow do i grow my nails long and stop biting them?
When your a bit run down or if you are lacking in minerals or vitamins your body decides to sacrifice what it deems to be unnecessary such as your nails.

Calcium is one mineral that you need for strong nails so try a supplement.

For good strong nails you need to buff them and keep your hands well moisturised. Try massaging your hands just by rubbing in a good moisturiser into your hands to improve circulation.

Also to stop yourself biting them there is a liquid ';MAVALA STOP'; that you put on your nails that tastes so horrid that you won't be long stopping. You can buy it somewhere like boots.

I've tried it and I thought it worked.

Hope this helps. How do i grow my nails long and stop biting them?
put nail polish remover on them. it tastes sooo bad and stays on pretty long.
Hi im Sarah and im 14 years old. I had bitten my nails for over 5 years and couldn't stop. i have stopped my habit and i don't bite my nails at all anymore. How you break that habit is by not biting your nails for 2 weeks straight. I did this by painting my nails. They always were painted, so by that way i never went to bite my nails. Try this. I hope it worked.
For lenght and strenght take some Biotin vitamins it good for your hair and skin as well. Also put a bit of garlic in a clear nail polish (it helps with the growth too). I agree with one of the answers put some nail polish remover on the tips, or something that makes you gag!
ive had this habit for a long long time.

my mom has told me to stop since i started. finnally one day i just set my mind to it and i have baraly bit them for two monthes
