How can I stop biting my nails and get them to grow long?

this reminds me of the old story about the two cowboys that rode into town. Dismounted and tied their horses to the rail. One cowboy walked to the rear of his horse and stuck a finger up the horse's rear, extracted his finger and smeared the poop around his lips.

The other cowboy asked him why and the first one said:';Chapped Lips';

The reply-Does that cure them?

The reply, --NO, but it keeps me from licking them.

Should work for your fingers too.How can I stop biting my nails and get them to grow long?
put some pepar on it baby girl :DHow can I stop biting my nails and get them to grow long?
Get your nerves under control. Honestly...that is the only thing that helped me...to controll my anxiety or nerves. That stuff that they sell to make your nails taste bad...doesn't work...you get used to the taste and bite anyway.
Get Fakes put on over them. I bite my nails too and nothing really works. That stuff that tastes bitter I sub consciously peel off, same with the nail growth. The only thing that works is getting tacrylic tips put on from the nail salon. Those are pretty are to chew through.
first off all i want you to know that alot of ugly things live under your nail that can cause you different diseases, even if you wash under your nails they will still be there so health wise its not a good thing to do at all. you can keep your self busy with different things so you wont bite your nails anymore or you can go to one of those chinese needle thingy places to help you get over with your problem.
Stop biting them and let them grow...

I don't really understand why some questions have a ';How do I'; in front of them?

I don't get it?
My friend put nail polish on and then she stopped biting them because it took a lot of maintenance, and she didn't want to mess up her nails, and she said nail polish taste bad when biting it.
put tape on them
Get some of that stuff that people usually use to stop babies from sucking their thumbs.

I'm sure that have something like that for nails.

Thanks for the points, gorgeous.
There is nailpolish that tastes like pepper. Try that!

go get a manicure and make sure it is expensive.... that way you won't want to chew them because they'll be pretty and they cost a lot
I am not sure what to do about not biting your nails, it is really up to you. You have to stop on your own. I know been a biter for years, Quit a few times but always go back. As for growing them, there are a few ways, Sally Hansen of course, but the is also something called Knox Geletin, find it at the vitamin section of your local retail store. A pharmacist told me about it.
If you go to a beauty supply store (like Sally's) or mabe even Walmart or a store like that they have special nail polish that tastes very bitter. It helped my sister stop biting her nails. Good luck!
Put hot sauce on your nails. And to make them long put some clear nail grow for Sally Hansen. It's at CVS or any drugstore for about 2.99.
They have this clear nail pollish for nail biters that tastes gross. Not sure who makes it, but you can find it in any department or discount store.
put vinegar on your nail, every time you go to bite them, you will soon stop.
dip your fingers in something that tastes bad like vinegar and you will stip biting your nails. but people will ask you why you smell like vinegar...
I found that the less nervous about my life the less of a need I had to do it. My parents had tried all kinds of gross stuff to get me to stop but I would chew thru it. It helps when you have a manicurist to help clean up how ever small amount you have then you will see how nice they can be. When you go to put them in you mouth while waiting to grow out, put something else in there ie: gum?
Go to the nail salon and have them put some acrylic on your nails. If you try to bite your nails you'll be totally disgusted and it helps your real nails to grow in the process.
you could use fake nails because the texture is different from that of real nails. they will be harder to bite and very uncomfortable, try them for atleast a month.
