Tips to long nails?

i dont want fake nails, mine grow perfectly well. its just keeping them long thats the problem cos they always seem to break split or tear. any ideas how i can minimise this cos my hands look much better with longer nails!Tips to long nails?
i have long nails and at first they split or tear but they grew strong i think just because i let them long and they got used to it but at a certain lenght they break bc thay are too long(the white part shouldn't be longer than the pink one) and always keep them polished in at least 2 layersTips to long nails?
i also have long nails and i have them painted. The only way to keep them safe is to do nothing. It may sound crazy but it's the best way.
Your hands do not look much better with longer nails!
Use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails products, and check out their whole product line. I keep gel nails now, but in high school I had super long natural nails. Keep them manicured and painted, and don't use them as tools when opening packages, soda cans, etc.
How about trying not to hold a lot of stuff often while in the growing process. Maybe it could work. =|
