Can you still play a guitar with long nails?

You could, but It's a good idea not to. They take up to much room on the fretboard. Can you still play a guitar with long nails?
Yes but it is harder. They get in the way. U have to be pretty talented. Trust me I play guitarCan you still play a guitar with long nails?
Preferably lots of finger picking guitarists grow out their nails on their picking hand only which gives a much better sound...but for the fretting hand, i have a friend who does it but can't solo do to the nails but if you want to just play rythem it's fine.
Dolly Parton does it....so, I'm sure you could to.
I would not recommend it.
Eh try it...but if you want to keep your strings strong and last longer...then don't...
ahh i guess you could but its a lot harder to get the right sound out of the notes and chords, but long nails on your right hand (left of you are left handed) really help wiht fingerpicking, but you do look pretty wierd wiht one hand wiht long nails and one wiht short
I can tell you right now from experiance...long nails is the last thing you'll want to have. To correctly play guitar, you should be on the strings with the TIP of your finger, so long nails is a major problem...unless you want to play it wrong and use the bulk of your finger.
yeah, it'll just be harder.
i just got fake nails and when i went to play my guitar it definitly took awhile to get used to...but i got very short nails put on, so it's not TOO bad
Actually, it usually helps. Especially, if you have a long thumb nail on your playing hand.

A lot of great guitar players play with long nails.
