How long are ur nails when playing the piano?

I have a problem with two point fingers and right little finger that is when I cut my nails short I have hurt on a flesh. but when i don't cut it the nails will hook up with the hole between two keys.How long are ur nails when playing the piano?

Make sure when you cut your nails you're not cutting into the quick. Also cut them square-ish, NOT round or else you'll have in-growns. You want to basically get rid of the white part of the nail (ie, the nail that is technically excess). It sounds like you may have to experiemtn with length. Also, try cutting them frequently. I keep a nail clipper in my bag. Every couple of days instead of once a week. It's less of a 'shock'. Or, you could keep a nail file.





I have this problem occassionally when I cut my nails too quickly. Good luck.

i cut it short until i touches the tip of the finger. if its to long it will be hard to play the piano
Keep them short but not too short...and try filing them rather than cutting them.
Not to short at to provoke hurt..File them nicely..
I cut mine to just before where the finger ends. It seems to wor pretty well. Just cut them a bit before the nail, not so short that it digs into your flesh!
my nails are the same length when I play the piano as they are at other times.
