Hmm i was wondering how long does your nails have to be to get a french mani?...?

i have always been getting fake nails... but i heard from a freind that its not really good for your nails.. soo i was just wondering how long does your nails have to be to get a french mani with your real nails?? thanxxxxxxxHmm i was wondering how long does your nails have to be to get a french mani?...?
i am sorry to contradict with the first answer but i am in my last year of training to be a beauty therapist and specialising in being a nial technician and the glue form the false nails strips away thin layers of the nail and if one is caught and pulled off there is a chance that your nail could come off with it too! nails dont have to be very long to have a french manicure just so long as.....

look at your nails against a light if neccessary and just check that you have an evenish white tip on each nail if you do go enjoy your manicure.

hope this helps xHmm i was wondering how long does your nails have to be to get a french mani?...?
I have a bad habit of biting my nails, so they are usually always very short but I've been able to get a french mani. Usually salon stlyest like you to have longer nails (it's a lot easier) but it is possible. They definitally look a lot better when they are longer. But honestly, fake nails aren't bad for your real nails. My mom has been getting fake nails for years and her nails are just fine!
they dont have to be too long so long as you have a good manicurist. mine were very short because fake nails ruined my real ones (be cause they strip away parts of your real ones no matter how ';gently'; you take them off) so she cut them short and painted on the white tips really nicely. it looked better then it would have if i had fake nails. and yes, fake nails are bad for your real nails; in fact my bf's mom who owns a nail salon has forbid me to wear them after she saw the damage they did to my nails. haha.
grow them out for two weeks and they'd be a perfect canvas for a french manicure. assuming you don't bite them off and your nails aren't brittle, that is.
depends how long you want your nails to be.

turn your palm around so the inside of your hand is facing you

and make sure you can see your nails sticking out from over your fingers.

if yes, then they are long enough.

if not, then wait a few weeks!
