My dog has long nails ..?

is an outside dog. %26amp;he has long *** nails but my parents says its okay. will it be alright though? like i can near it hitting the ground when he walks. but unfortunately we can't really get it professionally cut so any alternatives ?My dog has long nails ..?
No it's not ok. If they aren't trimmed they will keep growing and will become very painful for your dog. Either get trimmers and do them yourself or get a Dremel and file them down. Just don't go too far at once or you'll cut the quick.

The best thing would be to take him to a groomer or a vet and have them done. It only costs $10-$15.My dog has long nails ..?
Try using Pedi Paws trimmer. It's very safe and you won't have to really worry about cutting too short and injuring the quick. And no it's not ok to let your dogs nails grow too long. It makes it uncomfortable for them to walk. It's really not that expensive to have it done at the vets office either. Call your local vet and see how much they charge. Vets in my area charge about $15 bucks. Even if he is a difficult dog and doesn't tolerate other people he can always be muzzled and restrained to get the job done at the vets. Less stress for you if he never had this done. If you want to do it yourself take things slow to get him used to the process. Reward him if he's being good with treats. Either buy pedi paws or a good pair of nail clippers. If his nails are clear then make sure not too cut too far. The pink stuff in middle is called a quick and it will bleed if you cut it plus it will hurt. The quick tend to extend if the nails are never cut so if his nails are black cut only a small piece at a time

Here is a good website to show you how it's done http://www.5min.com/Video/How-To-Cut-You鈥?/a> . HOPE THIS HELPS
The vet only charges about 10 bucks for only cutting them!! Humane society charges 10!! ur parents can afford that.

Long nails can mess up your dogs' back so its bad to let them grow so long!

I would NEVER recommend you do it yourself...you could cut the quick which is hard to see and he'll be bleeding forever
getting your dogs nails cut only cost $7 to $10 at any vet! its not expennsive.. if they grow to long they will curl and be hitting their paw.. so they will be uncomfortable when he walks.. you can see it curled... if its like that take him b4 its too difficult for the vet to cut.
Mine too. People say just run him on the cement and they will shorten...naa, never worked here. We have to take our lil guy in every so often and get a ';trim'; they slightly sedate him and take care of it.

We have no choice.
Well its not good to let them grow real long but if its an outside dog let them grow longer than the average dog. But get them cut because my dog when her nails get too big then she starts biting her nails.
cut them yourself

its not too hard
