My nails keep chipping, i'm trying to grow them long but find it hard? can anyone give me tips on this?

I always buff them when they chip and cover them with a coat of clear nailpolish, but they still always chip! i want to grow them long, and i don't bite them... any tips?My nails keep chipping, i'm trying to grow them long but find it hard? can anyone give me tips on this?
My finger nails used to break ALL the time when i tried to grow them long. The best thing to do to start with is to cut your nails...it sounds weird (because you want to grow them long) but if you cut them fairly short, they will grow back stronger. Keep them filed nicely as they grow, but for REALLY strong nails...the best thing is to drink MILK!! Even if it's just one glass a day!! The calcium strengthens them...it really helped me!

Keep them quite short until they have grown stronger. Don't use a nail file too often, and then slowly, only filing in one direction. if you cut your nails more or less square instead of tapered they won't be as prone to snagging. Use a nail conditioner, preferably something with almond oil, each night. Wear the Marigolds when washing up or cleaning to protect your hands from cleaning products. And take no notice of the old rubbish about eating a jelly cube every day - it has no scientific basis and doesn't help! Don't use nail hardener as it can make your nails brittle. Buffing is great and gives a lovely shine, but if you do it too vigorously then the heat caused by the friction can make your nails dry and prone to flaking.
maybe you're wanting your nails to long like to look like the kind of artificial nails or mabe u just have thin nails? this may be why there chipping just keep trimming them when there at a reasonable length i guess and maybe by a manicure set this can help them look clean and well groomed :) even if they're not really long lol good luck , or even so buy a nail kind of hardner it comes in like a polish .
if you don't want to go out and buy any fancy nail polish, just drink lots of milk! it worked for me, at least give it a a try!

Pop into your chemist or store where they sell health and beuty products and ask them what you can do.
