Why do we consider women who e.g. wear high heel shoes, long nails, thin etc. feminine? are there ........?

oppressive reasons behind them? who or what creates the ideal female body, who chooses what is feminine and not?

if an ideal is used as a tool for oppresion how does it work?

i don't understand your question without the proper use of punctuationWhy do we consider women who e.g. wear high heel shoes, long nails, thin etc. feminine? are there ........?
Who says we do? I think it's silly. Subjecting yourself to the discomfort of high heels is rediculous. I laugh at those who do it. ha ha
Women do such things to make themselves more appealing.

High heels: lift the buttocks, creating more of a ';bubble'; effect to the lady in question's behind. It also pitches her torso forward, giving her body a more curved appearence.

long nails: Are more of a cultural phenomenon. It is considered beautiful for the same reason jewelry and other adornments are considered beautiful on a woman

Thin: During the renaissance, pudgy women were considered the ideal, as was having no eyebrows at all (the Mona Lisa, for example, has no eyebrows.) This was a sign of status. Today, with fast foods, donuts, and ho-hos, thinness is considered a sign of self-discipline. Furthermore, a thin woman's shape emphasises the width of her waist and her torso, which are the locations of her breasts and genitals, which stimulate excitement in men.

as far as its oppressiveness, it is no more oppressive than men who are pressured to have prestigous jobs with lots of money. It goes back to our era as tribals; women stayed at home and reared the family, the men hunted. A woman's worth was how easily she attracted a husband, and how well she raised the family. A man's worth was how much food he brought home after the hunt. Both tasks were completely essential, the partners were co-dependent on each other.

Civilization moves us away from forcing men and women having to maintain these standards. However, we know such a set up works, which is why many choose to continue the lifestyle, where the man works and the woman stays at home and rears the household. But as food becomes abundant and the population explosion makes starting a family optional, men and women are free to adopt a different lifestyle. Both genders still compete amonst themselves as the best possible suitor for the opposite gender, which is why women try to make themselves as pretty as possible, and men try to get the best job and the fastest car possible.

As there are advantages to the tribal set up, there are disadvantages as well. Such as the troubles women faced with regards to emancipation and equality in the workplace. However, as civilization becomes more and more advanced, such archaic notions are more and more becoming a distant memory of a more uncivilized era.
Social traditions and our marketing usually define feminine in the USA.
of course theres no oppression... many women choose to dress in high heels and wear nice clothes because they like it..

i love shopping and the media has little affect on my style and my look.

many women in developing countires however dress and look according to laws and rules..

its human nature to ';look nice'; and women do it for pleasure... :))
Most women would think that wearing high heels, having manicures, being thin, etc.... makes them look better, so it's called ';feminine';.... I don't really know. But there are societies out there who don't think that being thin looks good.
I consider women who wear high heels and have long fingernails strong, confident and sexy with good self-esteem. Your description is about as far away from how your average male looks as you get
I enjoy women who wear plates in their lips..very attractive.
